They transmit torque through hubs with crown gear teeth which permanently mesh with the straight teeth of the sleeves. This design advantages in providing the highest torque transmission for a small size gearbox.

The couplings require lubrication on a routine interval time to function properly and prevent the risk of failing prematurely.
