Unpack the PTO gearbox and cross-reference the nameplate data with your order specifications. Confirm the gear ratio, input/output shaft dimensions, and rotation direction are correct for your cotton picker.

Prepare the cotton picker mounting interface by removing the old gearbox (if replacing) and cleaning all mating surfaces. Inspect mounting holes for thread damage or elongation.

Reinstall all PTO shaft guards, gearbox covers, and safety decals. Ensure 360° coverage of all rotating components within operator reach.

Commission the gearbox by running at no-load for 15 minutes, then gradually introducing load over 2 hours. Record baseline temperature and vibration readings for future comparison.
